History of the moon

The moon was first visited by soviet spacecraft Luna 2 in 1959. The first landing was July 20th 1969. The last visit in December 1972 the moon was very mapped and still is. It takes 27 days to complete encompass the earth which is 240,250 miles away. The moon has been a topic for scientist for a half a century.

The moon always faces the earth no matter what side it’s on. The far side of the moon was explored by humans in 1959 by unmanned soviet Luna 3 mission, during their exploration they took a few pictures Neil Armstrong was part of the mission. During the day the moon’s temperature is 256oF and at nighttime it is -170o, there is a range of temperatures on the moon.

The moon has rocks that weigh up to 842 pounds. The rocks on the moon date up to 4.3 billion years ago. Most scientists believe that the moon was formed from ejected material after the earth collided with mars- sized object. The ejected material coalesced into the moon that went into an orbit around the earth.

Features of the Moon

The moon orbits 384,400 km from the earth. The diameter of the moon is 3467 km. the moon is the second brightest star in the sky. The moon orbits once per month. The moon has no atmosphere but scientist believe that there is water and ice on the moon.
The moon is the earth’s only natural satellite. A natural satellite is the orbiting of the star or a celestial body. The true name for the moon is “natural satellite.” The moon is less massive than the earth. If you were to stand by the moon, you would feel that your weight has decreased by 5/6.

The Moon

I communicate all my information very well with people. Even if I am giving a presentation, talking, e- mails, or letters. I take a lot of notes in class especially social studies because my goal is to understand everything. When I take notes I like to add everything even if it’s not important because it just helps to know more information. Before I turn in any of my publish pieces I like to review it such as reading it out loud or having my parents take a look at it. I would rate myself a 4 because I feel I have mastered that but I have fully mastered it. I still need more practice.

When looking at all my information I check where I get it from. I make sure that it is a reliable source and not a false fact. When it comes to citing my sources I do very well with that I also am able to cite it correctly using noodle bib. I wouldn’t say that I have mastered the skill of citing because a program is organizing it for me and all I have to do is add the information. I would like to know a general way of doing a work cited page before high school. I would rate myself an 3 because there are parts I still need to master.

When I am not sure of information  I use resources such as; The internet, teachers, books, friends, and primary resources. I use the internet  more than anything because I am able to explain more when I see that several resources, the same. When I do research I use information from the internet that was from the present. I use things such as letters, and diary entries to show my subject. I would rate my self an 3 because my research could be better because I could look up more parts in depth. I want to secure this part of my listening skills because I need to be able to look up more information in some parts of my subject to learn more about what I’m doing.

When I am presenting an oral presentation  I try to use the appropriate grammar but sometimes I have to practice my speaking before presenting. When ever I am writing down notes I try to use note cards such as the digital ones on noodle bib. This helps organize my notes so when I need to come back to them they are there for me. I would rate my self an 3 because I am almost  mastering those skills. I will work on it in high school because I want to be successful in my note card making during high school. So that I will have good notes in high School.
